When you bought your property, you entered into either a lease or a freehold contract with the developer and/or a Residents’ Management Company, which exists to control and run the communal areas and services of your development and to ensure all occupier covenants are enforced. Every property owner or ‘shareholder’ has voting rights, to ensure they have a democratic say in the running of the development into which they have bought.
